WINNIPEG: Environmental organizations in Manitoba are calling for the safe recycling of electronic devices to protect the environment. The groups issued a stark warning regarding the potential consequences of improperly disposing of old electronic equipment.
Dennis Neufeld, Program Director for the Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA), highlighted the danger posed by e-waste. “Once e-waste gets to the landfill, it starts to break down, and it will harm the environment,” he stated. Neufeld emphasized that electronic devices should not end up in landfills, making it essential to provide convenient disposal locations for the public.
He noted that EPRA operates depots across the province, and further information regarding these convenient e-waste drop-off sites is available on the Electronic Products Recycling Association website.
