LONDON, ONTARIO: London Police have issued a public safety alert regarding the presence of a dangerous high-risk offender who has taken up residence in the London, Ontario area after completing his sentence.
The individual is identified as Johannes Wilhelmus Laning, 48. Authorities stated that Laning has a criminal history that includes convictions for sexual interference with a child, mischief, and criminal harassment (stalking), along with previous breaches of court conditions.
Police released the information as part of their commitment to ensuring public safety. Laning is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Laning is currently serving a two-year probation period, during which he is subject to several strict conditions. These conditions mandate that he must not associate with or communicate with females under the age of 16. Furthermore, he is prohibited from entering public parks or swimming areas where children under 16 are likely to be present.
The London Police Service strongly advises the public not to approach or engage directly with Laning if they notice a violation of his conditions. Instead, they urge citizens to immediately contact the London Police by calling 1-833-CYBER-88 with any information regarding potential breaches of his release terms.
