QUEBEC CITY – The opposition has criticized the Legault government’s cabinet reshuffle. Quebec Liberal leader Pablo Rodriguez stated that Premier François Legault’s plan is not credible and that he is trying to solve problems he created himself. Rodriguez added that while Legault claims the move will make the government more efficient, it is actually the premier who is responsible for the soaring number of civil servants.
François Legault announced the upcoming cabinet reshuffle a few days ago. Since coming to power in 2018, Legault has only reshuffled his cabinet once, in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. With just a year left until the next general election, Legault’s objective is to protect his government’s image by reorganizing the cabinet with new ministers.
