Nepali Nurses Die While Trying to Rescue a Kangaroo

MELBOURNE — Two young nurses of Nepali origin have died in a tragic car accident in Melbourne, Australia, while attempting to rescue an injured kangaroo. The victims were identified as Sarala Khadka and Aruja Suwal. The accident occurred as they were returning from celebrating Aruja’s 30th birthday.

The incident happened when they saw an injured kangaroo on the roadside and stopped to help it. Another vehicle lost control and struck them. One nurse died at the scene, and the other succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Authorities have advised the public to contact wildlife rescue organizations for assistance when encountering injured animals on the road.
